Having spent the last week with the Subaru BRZ (review coming soon), this article seems very topical. Today, Toyota has announced a edition for the GT86, which has been named as GT86 Blue Edition. Predictably, this means that a new paint finish is available for the popular sports car, but there is also a new performance pack on offer, too.
What does it offer?
The Blue Edition is available from a price of £29,980, and includes an ‘Electric Blue’ paint finish with contrasting black details such as front grille and wing mirrors. The black theme continues inside, where you will find leather and alcantara in said colour.
As well as the new lick of paint, Toyota is also now able to offer customers a ‘Performance Pack’. For an extra £355 (£1,340 for the automatic, bizarrely) buyers will get a Sachs-tuned suspension upgrade, with Sachs Performance dampers, and larger Brembo brakes that give both increased stopping power and improved pedal feel.
There are also new 17″ alloy wheels to help squeeze the new, larger Brembo calipers in, plus there is also a limited slip differential as standard as the Blue Edition matches the GT86 PRO trim level. This means that you also get features such as cruise control, dusk-sensing headlights, dual-zone climate control, heated front seats, LED front and rear lights and the Toyota Touch 2 multimedia system.
The new Toyota GT86 Blue Edition is available to buy from the 1st of June with prices starting from £29,980 for the manual model and £30,455 for the automatic version.
