Fancy a Mazda3 but wish it was a bit more…limited? Well you are in luck as the Japanese brand has announced that its new Mazda3 Sport Black has gone on sale today. Just 700 will be produced for the UK and prices start from £21,595. What exactly does the Sport Black offer though? Read on to find out.
More Sportiness – Obviously
As the name suggests, this Mazda3 model offers a more sporty look thanks to 18″ – yes, really – alloys and at the rear you’ll find a black roof spoiler. Speaking of colour, the Sport Black is available in three no-cost colours; Soul Red Metallic, Snowflake White Pearlescent and Eternal Blue Mica. So the Sport Black isn’t actually available in black despite its name – never mind.
In regards to specification, the Sport Black is based on 118bhp SE-L Nav model meaning you’ll get features such as navigation, 7″ touchscreen, heated front seats, and rear parking sensors to name a few. The Sport Black adds to this reversing camera, LED headlights with Adaptive front lighting system, Bose sound system, heated steering wheel, climate control and Smart keyless entry.
It may look sporty, but as you would imagine with a power output of 118bhp, a hot hatch it ain’t. Mated to a 6-speed manual gearbox, this sporty-styled hatch will crack 62mph in just under nine seconds and will continue to a top speed of 121mph. Regarding economy, on a combined run it’s able to offer 55.4mpg and it’ll emit 119g/km from its double exhaust pipe.
“The Mazda3 is a core model in our line-up, one that continues to be popular with both private and fleet customers. The Sport Black special edition delivers even more value to our customers and I’m sure the its winning combination of extra equipment, distinctive styling enhancements and competitive price will make this a very popular addition to the already extensive Mazda3 range,” commented Jeremy Thomson, Managing Director of Mazda Motors UK.
The new Mazda3 Sport Black is now on sale with prices starting from £21,595.
