It’s no secret that the new Honda Civic Type R has recently smashed Volkswagen’s record at the Nurburgring but until now the price has been unknown. That has changed today. as the Japanese brands has revealed how much the Type R will cost when it hits the UK?
How Much?
The standard model will cost from £30,995 whilst the GT version will cost £2,000 more. The GT version adds blind spot detection, dual zone climate control, auto dimming rear view mirror, Honda CONNECT with Garmin Navigation, wireless charging, high power audio, and LED front fog lights.
No matter which car you pick though, it will be fitted with a 2.0 litre turbocharged VTEC petrol unit which produces 316bhp – 10 more than the previous model. It’s mated to a slick 6-speed manual gearbox, which now has a fancy system to help blip the engine on the down changes. Performance figures have not been announced yet though, but you can expect it to better the model it replaces.
It may not offer as much brawn as the Focus RS, but this is a little cheaper so it’s not all bad, plus you can buy the Civic Type R in the knowledge that you have the fastest front wheel drive hot hatch money can buy. You can check out the record-breaking lap for yourself in the video below.
