We all know that pretty much every manufacturer is desperate to thrust its new electric car/concept in your face and now it’s the turn of Czech brand Skoda. This week the brand unveiled its Vision E Concept, which will make its debut at the Shanghai Auto Show next month.

So, What Are The Headlines?

The Vision E is fully electric – unsurprisingly – and will also feature autonomous tech, making it was Skoda calls ‘tomorrow’s mobility’. Thanks to a long wheelbase (2,850mm), the Vision E will offer a spacious interior and a typically high driving position you’d expect from an SUV, but Skoda has tried to make it look like a coupé. I have to say it’s mission accomplished in that regard.

Many have stated the Vision E will be a rival to the Tesla Model X but I think it’s a better looking piece of kit. Powering this sleek electric SUV is of course an army of batteries that give the power output of 302bhp, which is definitely respectable, but don’t expect a high top speed. It’s just 112mph, which is going to disappoint those looking for power, but it does mean – with a light foot – you can get a range of 311 miles.

That’s pretty much all the details for the time being, but I’m sure more details will be revealed when it goes on show at the Shanghai Auto Show which takes place over the 19th and 28th of April.
