It seems like a long time ago since I wrote about the Mazda MX-5 RF but today the Japanese brand released the prices for the RF models hitting the UK. The MX-5 RF looks rather special but it won’t be too much then the regular MX-5 with prices starting from £22,195.
Trims and Engines
Only 500 will be coming to the UK but customers will still get a choice of trim and engine. You’ll have the choice of either a 1.5 or 2.0 litre SKYACTIV-G petrol engine which offer 129bhp and 158bhp respectively. A minimum of £23,095 will be needed to get the 2.0 litre unit which comes in the SE-L Nav trim and the 1.5 litre in the same trim will cost £22,195.
However, if you fancy going all out you can part with a sizeable £28,995 for the Launch Edition. This offers a twin-tone roof, BBS alloy wheels, black door mirrors and a black spoiler. It comes in either Soul Red or Machine Grey metallic paint which is complimented by alcantara trim in the cabin with Recaro seats.

Completing the trim levels is the mid-level Sport Nav which costs £24,795 when mated with the 1.5 litre and £25,695 when the 2.0 litre is selected. There is also a Sport Nav Auto option which is mated with the 2.0 litre unit only and costs £27,095. The new model is available to pre-order now and will be delivered to the UK in March 2017.
Jeremy Thomson, Managing Director of Mazda Motors UK said, “We’re very excited about the arrival of the all-new Mazda MX-5 RF. It will add a unique and stylish model to our range, one that stands distinct from the MX-5 Convertible, yet retains all the award-winning driver appeal our sports car is famed for.”
