You may have seen my previous article regarding the new Hyundai Kona SUV; today the Korean has teased another picture of its forthcoming model. Sadly though, there are no concrete details on what the car will offer though.
Sleek, Sharp and Progressive
These are the words used by Hyundai to describe the new Kona and although you can’t really make a great deal out from the photo, it’ll be hard to disagree with those statements. It will feature the brand’s new design language, which makes use of a cascading grille with sharp LED headlights and daytime running lights flanking it either side.
Hyundai also says the new Kona will offer “true SUV experience. Its elevated seating position ensures better visibility for drivers and increases driving comfort, while the optional four-wheel drive enhances the ride and handling characteristics.” In all honesty, this doesn’t sound particularly new or groundbreaking if you ask me, but it will be interesting to see what it can bring to the heavily-populated SUV table.
The Kona is a rather important car for the Korean brand though, as it marks the next step of the brand aiming to be the leading Asian brand in Europe by 2021, an aim that is sure to make Kia’s ears perk up. Kia is also a firm looking to rub shoulders with those in Europe and on the face of it, the brand is holding its own. So then, it will interesting to see how the Kona will fare and I look forward to seeing more details.
