New C4 Cactus

Whether you’re a fan or not of the C4 Cactus (I rather like it by the way) it’s been a successful model for Citroen. The French brand will be keen to continue this success with the brand new C4 Cactus, which is now available to order in the UK with prices starting from £17,265.

Breaking New Ground

When the first C4 Cactus hit the scene, it did so with it’s rather unusual but innovative ‘Airbump’ panels which helped with protecting the bodywork. The new model has even more innovative design features, including the Citroen Advanced Comfort programme, which is complimented by Advanced Comfort seats. The former sees its European Premiere, whilst the latter is a world first.

Citroen states that because of these new features, the C4 Cactus is able to offer a “new definition of comfort”. To help back up this lofty statement, the C4 Cactus has enhanced soundproofing to ensure that the cabin is quiet as a library, and there are Progressive Hydraulic Cushions to make the ride as smooth as velvet.

Packed With Technology

As well as offering the a high level of comfort, the new C4 Cactus will offer a fair amount technology too. From launch, there will be a Flair and Feel models as well as limited edition Feel ‘Edition’. All models come with a 7″ touchscreen which will offer the standard goodies such as Bluetooth, DAB radio and smartphone connectivity.

On top of that, drivers will be able to enjoy a full host of safety features such as autonomous emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, reversing camera and park assist to name a few. Grip control is also available for those looking to get extra grip in poor conditions, which will could prove to be very important in colder months.

‘Feel Edition’

Available from the end of May, the Feel Edition is based on the standard Feel trim level, but of course there are some extras. Fitted with the 82 PureTech petrol engine, the Feel Edition offers a Metropolitan Red interior ambiance. The red theme extends to the outside, only this time it’s ‘Deep Red’, which is used for fog light surrounds and the Airbump panels.

The body itself is finished in Polar White, although there are optional colours of Cumulus Grey, Platinum Grey, Obsidian Black metallic paints and a Pearlescent White finish. No matter which colour you go for, the body will be complimented by 16″ alloy wheels. This trim level is priced from £17,265, making it the cheaper model in the range. The downside is that you’ll have to make do with the less powerful engine in the range.

What Other Engines Are Available?

Good question. As well as the aforementioned PureTech 82 engine, you can also have a 1.2 litre PureTech engine that produces 130ps. That would be my personal pick as I’ve used it in the Peugeot 3008 and it’s a fizzy motor that makes good progress. If you prefer diesel, than don’t worry has Citroen as you covered because a BlueHDi 110 engine is available.

Completing the engine line up is yet to another PureTech petrol, this time it’s the 110 unit, which is the only engine in the range to be made available with an automatic gearbox. You’ll have to get the Flair model to get this though, and this will set you back £21,165, making it the most expensive model in the range.

The new Citroen C4 Cactus is available to order now, with prices starting from £17,265.
