This year marks a birth of what is hopefully a successful and annual event, which is virtually on my doorstep. Now I’ll admit, I’m not the biggest expert when it comes to classic cars, but that doesn’t stop me being able to appreciate them. So news that there is to be the first Epsom Classic Car Rally in 2017 is music to my ears.
When is it?
It will take place on the 3rd of June and will compliment the infamous Epsom Derby, with Footman James and H&H Classics acting as main sponsors. Tattenham Corner will be the meeting place for the classic cars to meet on what will hopefully be a nice summer’s day. The price for each car will be £29 and must be at least 25 years old.
David Bond, Footman James, Director commented; “The Footman James Epsom Classic Car Rally concept provides classic car owners a whole new experience and unique environment in the event calendar. We can’t wait to see the showcase of four wheels as well witnessing the thoroughbreds competing in the World’s most famous flat race. We look forward to seeing many enthusiasts on the day!”
Dominic Lyncker, CEO of H&H Classics said: “H&H Classics is delighted to be part of this year’s Investec Epsom Derby, one of the greatest showcases in the world for thoroughbred racing. As a company that prides itself in dealing in classic horsepower we feel that an association with Epsom would make for an exciting and rewarding partnership.”
Event director Nigel Hole said:“Collaborating with such significant names in the industry gives this fantastic new event some much-needed support. Our aim is to provide enthusiasts with a completely unique event in the calendar, and we are delighted to be working with the likes of Footman James and H&H Classics in order to help us achieve success.“
