The McLaren F1, is easily one of the most iconic cars that has ever graced. There is not a petrolhead in the land that doesn’t know the car or what it’s capable of doing. The car may be almost 30 years old, but a good one will cost you a few million. Well, that’s if you can find for sell in the first place.
Fastest McLaren Yet
If you can’t find one, however, then I may have some good news for you. McLaren Automotive has declared that the new ‘Hyper-GT’, codenamed BP23, will be able to achieve a higher top speed than the famous F1 – that’s 243 in case you didn’t happen to know (unlikely I know). The BP23 will not rely on the same powertrain as the F1 though, as it will be a mix of petrol and electricity. It will, however, offer the same amount of models made as the F1 – 106. It will also three seats, another nod to the F1 of yesteryear.
The BP23 is yet to be named, or to be revealed, but what McLaren has revealed is that the new model will be shown to the public before the end of the year. Until then, we can all discuss the divisive looks of the new Senna. I’m not a fan if I’m honest, but I respect what the car stands for. Heading back to the BP23, production will start next year, with McLaren stating that each customer model will be bespoke.
I look forward to seeing it, and I’m sure you do too!
