Last year I tested the new Peugeot 3008 and I have to say, I rather liked it. It’s little wonder that it was able to bag the highly coveted European Car of the Year award. Today, the french brand has announced that its to add another new trim level to said car, and it will be called ‘GT Line Premium’. This trim level is also to be used 3008’s bigger brother too, the 5008, which I was also able to test last year.
Making Luxury Affordable
That’s how Peugeot describes the new trim, although I’d say that normal models are pretty plush to begin with. This new trim level sits nicely in between the standard GT Line and the range-topping GT, but what exactly can you expect for your hard earned cash? Well for starters, you’ll get features carried over from the pre-existing GT Line, including full LED headlights, i-Cockpit Amplify, sports styling and navigation to name a few.
On top of this already generous specification, the GT Line Premium adds keyless entry, smart electric tailgate, panoramic roof, 19″ alloy wheels, heated front seats as well as a massage function for the driver, which I can say from first hand experience is very pleasant indeed.
How Much Is It?
For the 3008 version you’ll be paying £28,590, which will be powered by the fizzy 1.2 litre PureTech 130 petrol and £30,595 for the 5008 fitted with the 2.0 litre BlueHDi 150 diesel. Other engines are available though, but you’ll need to fork out extra for them. Speaking of which, both models are available to order now.
With the total equipment on the all-new trim level individually valued at £2,720, its pricing at just £2,125 and £1,850 over an equivalent 3008 and 5008 GT Line specification respectively ensures the GT Line Premium will present a feature-rich but affordable proposition to customers. Sounds like a good excuse to splash out if you ask me.
